Remington plans to visit the Elderly at the NH Alzheimer's Cafe
Training to be a therapy dog for the elderly and a guide dog for the blind, Gentle Generations' puppy Remington brings smiles to seniors at the NH Alzheimer's Cafe. ng Remington to be a therapy dog or the elderly and a guide dog for the blind.
Gentle Generations founders Anushka and Anshul are currently raising a golden Labrador named Remington, with the goal of preparing him to become a therapy dog for the elderly and, eventually, a guide dog for individuals who are visually impaired.
After completing their puppy-raiser training this summer, they adopted Remington when he was eight weeks old and have been working with him to build the skills needed to become a certified therapy dog and later transition into guide-dog training. Socialization plays a central role in Remington’s development, and they have been intentional about introducing him to a variety of environments and experiences.
Now four months old, Remington will take an important next step on December 11th when they bring him to his first Alzheimer’s Café.
An Alzheimer’s Café is a social gathering designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory-related conditions. This visit will provide Remington with meaningful exposure while offering comfort and companionship to the seniors he meets.
