We believe caring starts with understanding.
The needs of elderly individuals around the world vary greatly, and every community experiences aging differently. Our teams in India focus on understanding and addressing the most critical needs of senior citizens in their communities, tailoring our programs to provide meaningful and effective support to the elderly in India.
When creativity and caring come together.
Shirin is the Principal of WonderNest Preschool, located in Pune, India. She believes in nurturing empathy and service in children from an early age. In partnership with Gentle Generations, she has introduced age-appropriate service projects into her school’s curriculum, encouraging young learners to connect with and support the elderly. Even at their young age, her students take great joy in creating artwork for seniors.
Shirin deeply values elder care and brings personal experience in intergenerational living and learning. She lives in a three-generation household, where her greatest inspiration is her grandmother, Rehana. At 88, Rehana recently started her own small business creating beautifully hand-colored envelopes for her community — an activity that keeps her creative, active, and engaged.
Inspired by her grandmother, a teacher nurtures service in her students.
Over two-thirds of elderly people in India say they are neglected by their family members while one third of the elderly claimed to have suffered physical or verbal abuse.
